Description

Integration with TAIF-NK Refinery

NKNH operates in tight feedstock integration with the adjacent TAIF-NK refinery within the Nizhnekamsk Industrial Zone:

  • Direct naphtha supply via pipeline from TAIF-NK to EP-600 cracker
  • Shared utilities, logistics, and infrastructure
  • Common ownership under SIBUR-TAIF structure
  • Forms one of Russia's largest integrated refining-to-chemicals complexes

Production Facilities and Assets

Nizhnekamskneftekhim operates an integrated complex of eight major production plants along with R&D facilities, training centers, and auxiliary operations at its Nizhnekamsk site:

  1. Divinyl and Hydrocarbon Feedstock Plant
    • Produces 1,3-butadiene (divinyl) and other C4 derivatives
    • Feedstock preparation for rubber production
    • Integration with adjacent TAIF-NK refinery naphtha supply
  2. Butyl Rubber Plant
    • Production of butyl rubber (IIR), halogenated butyl (BIIR/CIIR)
    • Multiple production lines for regular and specialty grades
    • Key supplier to global tire manufacturers
  3. Synthetic Rubber Plant
    • Solution and emulsion polymerization units
    • Styrene-butadiene rubber (SBR), polybutadiene rubber (BR)
    • Includes new-generation DSSK rubber production (commissioned 2021)
    • Thermoplastic elastomers (TPE) production
  4. Isoprene Monomer Plant
    • World-scale isoprene monomer production
    • Feeds isoprene rubber (IR) polymerization units
    • Critical component of global isoprene value chain
  5. Ethylene Plant (EP-600 Complex)
    • Capacity: 1,500,000 tonnes/year ethylene (expansion project)
    • Steam cracker processing naphtha from TAIF-NK refinery
    • Co-produces propylene and C4 streams
  6. Oligomer and Glycol Plant
    • Linear alpha-olefins (LAO) production (modernized 2016)
    • Ethylene oxide (EO) and propylene oxide (PO)
    • Glycols (MEG, DEG, TEG)
    • Oxyethylated products (MPEG, TPEG, NPEG) - launched 2017
  7. Styrene and Polyester Resins Plant
    • Styrene monomer production
