PT Kilang Pertamina Internasional (PT KPI) is a Refining & Petrochemical Subholding of PT Pertamina (Persero) which is a strategic holding company. PT KPI develops investments and runs Pertamina's business related to processing petroleum and other materials into high-value fuel, lubricant, petrochemical and pharmaceutical products as well as developing processing and petrochemical businesses in order to meet the needs for processed products and petrochemicals according to market developments.

BRIEF HISTORY

On November 13, 2017 PT Kilang Pertamina Internasional (PT KPI) was established as a strategic holding company of PT Pertamina (Persero) to run, control and manage investment and business activities related to processing and petrochemical megaprojects.

On November 28, 2017 PT Pertamina Rosneft Processing and Petrokimia (PT PRPP) was established as a subsidiary of PT KPI to manage the construction of the Tuban New Grass Root Refinery (NGRR) project, which is a collaboration project between PT Pertamina (Persero) and Rosneft Oil Company.

PT KPI re-established a subsidiary on May 7, 2019 namely PT Kilang Pertamina Balikpapan (PT KPB), which aims to manage the construction of the RU V Balikpapan Refinery Development Master Plan (RDMP) Project and is prepared to become a joint venture company in collaboration with partners.

In June 2020, PT KPI expanded its role in addition to managing infrastructure projects as well as developing processing and petrochemical businesses as well as managing processing & petrochemical refineries previously managed by PT Pertamina (Persero), namely Refinery Unit II Dumai, Refinery Unit III Plaju, Refinery Unit IV Cilacap, Refinery Unit V Balikpapan, Refinery Unit VI Balongan and Refinery Unit VII Sorong.

This change in role was marked by the inauguration of PT Kilang Pertamina Internasional as a Refining & Petrochemical Subholding as part of the formation of the Oil and Gas Holding.
