PT Pertamina (Persero) Refinery Unit (RU) VI Balongan is the sixth refinery of seven refineries under PT Pertamina (Persero)'s Processing Directorate, with its main business activity being processing crude oil into fuel products (BBM), non-fuel products, and petrochemicals.

RU VI Balongan has been operating since 1994. The refinery is located in Indramayu (West Java), approximately 200 km east of Jakarta, with operations in Balongan, Mundu, and Salam Darma. The raw materials processed at RU VI Balongan Refinery are Duri and Minas crude oil from Riau Province.

The existence of RU VI Balongan is highly strategic for both Pertamina's business and national interests. As a relatively new refinery implementing the latest technology, Pertamina RU VI has high economic value. With flagship products such as Premium, Pertamax, Pertamax Plus, Diesel, Pertamina DEX, LPG, and Propylene, RU VI has made significant contributions to revenue generation for both PT Pertamina and the state. Additionally, RU VI Balongan holds strategic value in maintaining fuel supply stability to Greater Jakarta, Banten, parts of West Java, and surrounding areas, which are Indonesia's business and government centers.
