PT Lotte Chemical Titan Nusantara (LCTN) is Indonesia's first and largest polyethylene producer, operating a 450,000 t/y PE complex in Merak, Cilegon, Banten Province.

History and Corporate Evolution

LCTN has a rich ownership history spanning over three decades:

• 1990: Founded as PT Petrokimia Nusantara Interindo (PT PENI) by four founding shareholders — BP Chemicals Investment Limited, Mitsui & Co. Ltd, Sumitomo Corporation, and PT Arseto Petrokimia — on a 36-hectare site in Merak, Cilegon.
• 1990–2005: Operated as PT PENI, Indonesia's first and largest PE producer, with 450,000 t/y capacity.
• 2006: Acquired by Titan Chemicals Corp. Sdn. Bhd. (Malaysia), renamed PT Titan Petrokimia Nusantara.
• 2010: Titan Chemical Corp. Bhd. acquired by Lotte Chemical Corporation (South Korea) in July 2010, bringing LCTN into the Lotte group.
• 2013: Renamed PT Lotte Chemical Titan Nusantara, its current name, in line with the group-wide rebranding.

Corporate Structure

LCTN is the principal operating subsidiary of PT Lotte Chemical Titan Tbk, which in turn is owned by Lotte Chemical Titan Holding Berhad (LCTH, Malaysia) and ultimately by Lotte Chemical Corporation (South Korea). Other subsidiaries of PT Lotte Chemical Titan Tbk include Lotte Chemical Titan International Ltd, PT Titan Trading, Chemical Brothers Ltd, and South Wealth Finance Ltd.

Employees and Scale

• LCTN employs approximately 201–500 people across its Merak operations.
• Together with PT Lotte Chemical Titan Tbk, the Indonesian group employs over 300 staff in total.
