Ethanol dehydration
is a catalytic process that converts ethanol into ethylene by acid-catalyzed removal of water molecules in fixed-bed reactors operating at elevated temperatures. The process represents an important pathway for producing renewable ethylene from bioethanol derived from sugarcane, corn, or other biomass feedstocks.
