Our Ferndale Refinery is located on Puget Sound in Ferndale, Washington, about 20 miles south of the U.S.-Canada border. It processes a variety of domestic and foreign crude oils, including Alaskan North Slope, Canadian and U.S. shale crudes. With a deep-water dock, a 30,000 BPD rail unloading facility and access to existing crude oil pipelines, Ferndale has the flexibility to process a broad slate of crudes. Its facilities consist of a fluid catalytic cracker, an alkylation unit, hydro-treating units and a naphtha reformer. The refinery produces gasoline and diesel. Other products include residual fuel oil, which supplies the northwest marine transportation market. Most of Ferndale’s refined products are distributed by pipeline and barge to major markets in the northwest United States.
