Acid Rich Feed
Abbreviation
ARF

Acid Rich Feed is a specialized form of nylon (polyamide) salt solution, originally developed and patented by DuPont (now INVISTA), in which the salt is deliberately prepared with an excess of adipic acid (ADA) relative to hexamethylenediamine (HMD | HDMA). Unlike the conventional stoichiometric AH salt—where adipic acid and HMDA are combined in a precise 1:1 molar ratio—ARF is formulated with a higher proportion of ADA, resulting in an acid-rich composition.
