Description

Direct use of natural water sources in manufacturing processes is common and can offer significant advantages:

  • Direct seawater cooling is normally used to limit cost and save space and weight in many industrial applications.
  • In regions near rivers or seas, using natural water sources for cooling can significantly enhance efficiency and reduce environmental impact.
  • These systems typically have a lower condensation temperature, which enhances cooling performance.

Natural water cooling systems require additional infrastructure including influent lines to bring cold water to the facility and effluent lines to return it to the source.
