Current Ownership Structure

Following the April 1, 2019 merger between Idemitsu Kosan and Showa Shell Sekiyu, Showa Yokkaichi Sekiyu became a wholly owned subsidiary of Idemitsu Kosan Co., Ltd. Prior to this acquisition, the ownership structure was: Royal Dutch/Shell Group: 50% ownership (until 2016-2019 acquisition), and other shareholders: 50%.

The 2016-2019 transition involved Shell finalizing the sale of its 31.2% shareholding in Showa Shell Sekiyu to Idemitsu Kosan for $1.4 billion in December 2016, followed by the complete integration in 2019.
