The legal entity is owned by three international oil company shareholders in a consortium arrangement: Rosneft Deutschland GmbH holds 37.5%, Shell Deutschland GmbH holds 37.5%, and AET-Raffineriebeteiligungs-Gesellschaft mbH (representing RN Refining & Marketing GmbH and Eni Deutschland GmbH) holds 25%.

The company's stated corporate purpose encompasses the processing, transport, storage, and provision of mineral oils, petroleum products, gas products, and chemical products, as well as the generation and distribution of energy.
