Sadara Chemical Company, the Saudi Aramco–Dow joint venture, has announced a complete suspension of operations at its world‑scale petrochemical complex in Jubail, eastern Saudi Arabia, following a regulatory filing that disclosed a temporary halt to all production units.
The filing, submitted to the local exchange, stated that all 26 manufacturing units at the integrated complex have been shut down, without providing a firm timetable for resuming activities, and noted that the duration of the outage will depend on evolving domestic and international conditions.
The company indicated that the shutdown is expected to have a material impact on its financial performance for 2026, as the complex—designed to produce several million tonnes per year of chemicals and polymers—will not generate operating revenue for the period of the closure.
Investors were also informed that the suspension could affect downstream customers in the adjacent PlasChem Park and other industrial users that rely on Sadara’s feedstocks, while the company works to assess the operational and commercial consequences of the halt.
