Technology Unit
- 2nd Phosgenation Reactor
- Generic Phosgene Process
- Short Name
- 2nd Reactor
- Description
- Gas leaving the Primary Reactor then passes to a Secondary Reactor, whose purpose is to complete the conversion of CO and Cl2 into Phosgene. The Secondary Reactor, also containing Activated Charcoal, is commonly uncooled, since much less heat is generated at this stage owing to the relatively small concentrations of remaining Reactants.
