Description

Physical (steam/CO₂) or chemical (KOH, ZnCl₂, H₃PO₄) treatment of carbonaceous precursors to develop a high internal surface area of 500–3,000 m²/g. Individual technologies include steam activation, CO₂ activation, and chemical impregnation-activation processes for activated carbon production.
