Description

High-temperature electrical heat treatment at 2,500–3,000°C that converts turbostratic carbon into ordered graphitic crystal structure. This is the defining step in synthetic graphite electrode manufacturing, and individual technologies include Acheson furnace graphitisation and LWG (lengthwise graphitisation) processes.
