Description

Propylene Oxide reacts with Water at 200℃ and 1 ~ 20MPa to form 1,2-Propylene Glycol (MPG). The Waste discharge is small, the equipment corrosivity is small, the product purity is high and the stability is strong, but the reaction is relatively harsh and the equipment investment is relatively large. At present, Lyondell, Dow, BASF, CNOOC and Shell are the main companies using Propylene Oxide Hydration Process. According to a scientific Literature Review (doi.org/10.1002/aic.690300102), the typical conversion yield of the Reaction is 90%.
