Our Point Comfort site consists of twenty production units, five business divisions and a variety of support facilities at its nearly 2,500-acre petrochemical complex. The site’s initial Vinyl Chloride Monomer/Polyvinyl Chloride (VCM/PVC) plant went online in 1983. An additional investment of $1.7 billion in 1994 added several more operating units — Olefins, Linear Low-Density Polyethylene (LLDPE), High-Density Polyethylene (HDPE), Polypropylene (PP), Chlor-alkali (CA), Ethylene Dichloride (ED), Ethylene Glycol (EG), power co-generation (steam and electricity) and a new wastewater treatment facility. In 2002, another $1.6 billion investment added research and development, lines and additional units which increased capacity by 60 percent.  With our recent $5 billion dollar expansion in Point Comfort, TX completed, the company has added Olefins, HDPE, LDPE, PE, EG units and utilities.
