Description
Borealis Polymers Oy, which manufactures polyolefins and basic chemicals, operates in Kilpilahti, Porvoo, the largest oil refining and chemical industry centre in the Nordic countries. Borealis has six production facilities in Kilpilahti: olefins, phenolic & aromatics, polyethylene, polypropylene, Borstar polyethylene and a blending plant. In addition, there are two experimental factories and an innovation centre for development work. Borealis employs approximately 900 people.
