Site

The Braskem La Porte facility is located at 8811 Strang Road, La Porte, Texas, approximately 46 kilometers southeast of Houston on the south shore of the Houston Ship Channel. This site represents one of Braskem America's flagship polypropylene production complexes and has undergone significant expansion over recent years. It consists of two polypropylene production lines, and one ultra-high molecular weight production line.

Original La Porte Plant

• Capacity: 390,000 tonnes per year
• Technology: Spheripol technology producing homopolymer, random copolymer, and impact copolymer
• Operational since: Pre-2017

Delta Production Line (New Facility)

• Capacity: 450,000 tonnes per year (1 billion pounds annually)
• Technology: Advanced Unipol PP technology licensed from W.R. Grace
• Product range: Complete polypropylene portfolio including homopolymer, impact copolymer, random copolymer, and reactor thermoplastic polyolefins (TPOs)
• Investment: $750 million
• Construction timeline: October 2017 to June 2020, with commercial production launching in 2020

UTEC UHMWPE Facility Details

• Construction Period: Third quarter 2014 to first half of 2016
• Investment: $34 million
• Commercial Startup: Late 2016
• Annual Capacity: 80 million pounds (36,288 tonnes) per year or approximately 45,000 tonnes/year
