As the largest refinery under CNOOC, Huizhou Petrochemical was built in two phases. The first phase of 12 million tons of refining mainly processes high-acid heavy crude oil and was completed and put into operation in April 2009; the second phase of 10 million tons of refining mainly processes high-sulfur medium crude oil and was completed and put into operation in September 2017. It has 37 production units including atmospheric and vacuum distillation, catalytic cracking, delayed coking, residue oil hydrogenation, hydrocracking, catalytic reforming, aromatics combination, coal gasification hydrogen production, acrylic acid and esters, and has introduced 28 internationally advanced technologies with independent intellectual property rights. It mainly produces 20 categories of petrochemical products including gasoline, diesel, aviation kerosene, liquefied gas, propylene, ethylene materials, acrylic acid and esters, transformer oil, etc. High-end products are exported to many countries and regions such as Australia, Japan, Singapore, etc. High-quality aviation kerosene stably guarantees the needs of hub airports in South China.
