• 50 years ago, in order to improve the industrial layout of Shandong Province, adjust the industrial structure of Jinan City, and supplement the shortage of industrial fuel and chemical raw materials in Jinan area, the relevant state departments decided to build an oil refinery in Jinan City with an annual processing capacity of 300,000 tons of crude oil.
• On August 2, 1971, the first phase of the refinery construction project started. More than a thousand builders carried forward the "Iron Man" spirit of Daqing, worked hard for four years in the rocky eastern suburbs of Jinan, and opened up a new world for the petroleum industry in the Jinan area.
• Over the past 50 years, the crude oil processing capacity has grown from 500,000 tons to 7.5 million tons per year. 
• It has more than 30 sets of major production equipment including:
  ° atmospheric and vacuum distillation,
  ° heavy oil catalytic cracking,
  ° continuous reforming,
  ° diesel hydrogenation
  ° lubricant hydrogenation,
  ° polypropylene
  as well as complete supporting facilities and public systems such as self-owned railways, oil tank farms, power boilers, etc. 
  It can produce more than 50 brands of products such as gasoline, diesel, aviation kerosene, gasoline, diesel, lubricant base oil, polypropylene, liquefied gas, sulfur and high-grade road asphalt.
• Since the 13^th Five-Year Plan, the background of high-quality development of Jinan Refining and Chemical has become more distinct, with a total investment of 2.3 billion yuan, the adjustment of refining structure and upgrading, the commissioning of Linji crude oil double line and aviation kerosene pipeline, the completion of 800,000 tons/year diesel hydro-reforming unit, 400,000 tons/year aviation kerosene hydrogenation unit and other transformations.
