Formosa Chemicals & Fibre Corporation operates petrochemical and plastics manufacturing facilities at Xingang (Hsinkang) in Chiayi County, located within the Zhongyang (Chung Yang) Industrial Park.

Production Facilities

Aromatics Plant 2:

• Commenced operations in July 2000, producing benzene, toluene, xylene, and downstream intermediates​

Phenol/Acetone Plant:

• Producing phenol, acetone, isophthalic acid (IPA), and terephthalic acid derivatives​

Styrenic Resins:

• Polystyrene (PS): Original 60,000 t/y plant completed March 1991, expanded to 270,000 t/y by October 1996; combined Xingang/Mailiao capacity 320,000 t/y​
• ABS Resin: 150,000 t/y plant completed May 1995, expanded to 270,000 t/y by July 1996; combined Xingang/Mailiao capacity 410,000 t/y​

Compounding Operations:

• Modified plastics and compound materials facility for PS, ABS, PP, and PC resins. New dedicated compounding plant with 36,000 t/y capacity (3,000 t/month) planned completion early 2020 with NT$700 million investment​

Site Infrastructure

The Xingang facility is supported by the Hsinkang SK power station (台塑化新港發電廠), an operating cogeneration facility with at least 361 MW capacity providing electricity and steam to the chemical plants.​

Integration

Xingang operations are integrated with FCFC's Mailiao petrochemical complex, receiving feedstock via pipeline and producing intermediate products for further downstream processing within the Formosa Plastics Group vertical supply chain.
