The OQ Methanol plant is located in Salalah, Oman, and was established in 2006. This state-of-the-art facility has a production capacity of 3,000 metric tonnes per day (MTPD) of methanol. The plant is equipped with various utilities such as seawater intake, captive power generation, water desalination, and effluent treatment facilities. The basic process design for the plant was provided by Jacobs Engineering, UK, and it uses Johnson Matthey's LP (Low Pressure) process with a Methanol Casale ARC Converter.
