In 1971, the NORYL factory in Bergen op Zoom started: the beginning of the site.
In the seventies and eighties, we built several factories and supporting buildings there.
The location now has 10 factories, producing high-performance materials such as LEXAN™ polycarbonate and specialty compounds used in automotive, electronics, and industrial applications.
The site also hosts a chlor-alkali plant. The chlorine produced on-site via the chlor-alkali process is used directly in the production of phosgene, a key intermediate for polycarbonate manufacturing. Other by-products such as caustic soda and hydrogen are also generated and used or sold as part of the site’s operations.
