Diglycolamine (DGA) is a colorless, slightly viscous liquid alkanolamine with the chemical formula H₂N-CH₂-CH₂-O-CH₂-CH₂-OH. It is highly soluble in water, alcohols, and aromatic hydrocarbons, and has a mild amine odor. DGA is primarily used as a solvent for removing acid gases such as hydrogen sulfide (H₂S), carbon dioxide (CO₂), and carbonyl sulfide (COS) from natural gas and refinery streams. Other applications include its use as an intermediate in the production of foam stabilizers, emulsifiers, and various chemicals for personal care and metalworking.
