Description

Ethane is a colorless, odorless gas that is a member of the alkane family, with the chemical formula H3C-CH3. It is the second simplest alkane after methane and is primarily found in natural gas. Ethane is used mainly as a steam cracker feedstock in the petrochemical industry to produce various chemicals and materials, such as ethylene and propylene.
