Description

Dilbit is a relatively clean Bitumen (containing less than 0.5% Water and Solids) diluted with Condensate, in the order of 20 to 40% by volume. Dilbit can only be processed through a high-conversion refinery, and is too heavy/sour for a simple refinery. A majority of Alberta's crude exports are sold as Dilbit, mostly originating from the province’s in-situ operators.
