Triethanolamine (TEA) is a colorless to pale yellow, viscous liquid with the formula N(-CH₂-CH₂-OH)₃. It is a tertiary alkanolamine containing three hydroxyethyl groups attached to a nitrogen atom. TEA is highly soluble in water and widely used as an emulsifier, surfactant, pH regulator, and corrosion inhibitor in cosmetics, cleaning products, cement, and various industrial applications.
