Description

Monoethanolamine is a colorless, viscous liquid with a slight ammonia-like odor. It is a simple alkanolamine containing both a primary amine and a primary alcohol group, with the formula HO-CH2-CH2-NH2. MEA is highly soluble in water and widely used as a gas treatment agent for removing acidic gases such as CO₂ and H₂S from natural gas, as well as an ingredient in detergents, personal care products, and various industrial processes.
