Description

Formosa Petrochemical Corporation is Taiwan's first privately-owned oil refinery and the nation's leading ethylene producer, established in 1992 as a subsidiary of Formosa Plastics Group. The company went public on the Taiwan Stock Exchange in December 2003 under ticker symbol 6505.TW.

Core Operations

FPCC operates three primary business lines from its integrated Mailiao complex in Yunlin County:

Ownership Structure

The company is controlled by Formosa Plastics Group through a cross-shareholding structure. Major shareholders include three sister companies within the group: Formosa Plastics Corporation, Formosa Chemicals & Fibre Corporation, and Nan Ya Plastics Corporation. This cross-holding model consolidates operational control at the group level while allowing institutional investors and public float to participate following the 2003 listing.

Corporate Structure

FPCC employs approximately 6,189 people and maintains headquarters at the Mailiao Township complex with additional offices in Taipei. Key subsidiaries include FPCC USA (oil and gas exploration in Houston), Formosa Oil (retail gas station chain), and FG Inc. with its downstream subsidiary FG LA LLC for petrochemical products manufacturing.
