‎The Burghausen refinery plays a central role as the heart of OMV in Germany. It operates in OMV's strategic refinery network alongside the two other sites in Schwechat near Vienna and Petrobrazi in Romania. Burghausen has an annual processing capacity of around 3.8 million tonnes of crude oil. Middle distillates such as kerosene, diesel and heating oil are produced. The focus of the refinery is on petrochemicals – the entire gasoline cut flows into the production of petrochemical raw materials such as ethylene, propylene and butadiene for the plastics industry.‎
