Cheniere Energy, Inc. is a Houston, Texas-based energy infrastructure company and the #1 LNG producer in the United States and the second-largest LNG operator in the world. Founded originally as an oil-and-gas exploration company, it pivoted in the early 2000s to LNG infrastructure and became the first American company to export LNG in February 2016. As of 2024, it is a Fortune 500 company.
Core Business
Cheniere is a fully integrated, full-service LNG provider. Its business model covers three main steps:

Scale & Operations
Cheniere operates 14 liquefaction trains in total and has delivered LNG to 45 markets and regions worldwide. Since commencing exports in 2016, it has exported over 4,610 LNG cargoes and employs approximately 1,700 people globally.
Corporate Structure
Cheniere Energy, Inc. is the parent company. Its key subsidiary, Cheniere Energy Partners, L.P., owns and operates the Sabine Pass LNG Terminal. Cheniere owns 100% of the general partner interest in CQP. It also has an international marketing arm, Cheniere Marketing Ltd., based in London.
