Shandong Heze Yuhuang Chemical Co., Ltd. (Chinese: 山东菏泽玉皇化工有限公司) — Short: Heze Yuhuang (菏泽玉皇) established on August 10, 2007. It is one of the most significant manufacturing subsidiaries within the Shandong Yuhuang Chemical (Group) group. Its core function is the production of aromatic hydrocarbons and their downstream derivatives, forming an integrated chain from benzene to polystyrene.

The production complex operates in the Heze Economic and Technological Development Zone (within the Luxi New Area administrative jurisdiction) and comprises the following confirmed production lines:

• Benzene Hydrogenation Unit (苯加氢装置): Processes crude benzene and coking benzene to produce refined, high-purity benzene. Confirmed operational as of September 2023 (site inspection by Luxi New Area officials).

• Styrene Monomer (SM): ethylbenzene dehydrogenation unit with a capacity to produce 200,000 t/a of styrene, started up in 2017. Reactor internals, distributors, and mixers were supplied by Ruihua Chemical Co., Ltd. This represents a significant single-site styrene production capacity in the region.

• Ethylbenzene: Produced as an intermediate via alkylation of benzene with ethylene, feeding the styrene unit.

•  Polystyrene (PS): Downstream polymerization of styrene. polystyrene production is included in the company’s registered business scope; site-specific operational verification is limited.

• Supporting Infrastructure: Complete utilities, storage tanks, wastewater treatment, and logistics facilities.

Registered Business Scope (production): Styrene, hydrogen, heavy benzene, xylene, toluene, benzene, polystyrene, ethylbenzene, butadiene, butane, and MTBE. Note: Butadiene, butane, and MTBE appear in the license but have not been confirmed as operational at this site.

Registered Business Scope (sales, no storage): Acetone, benzene, isopropanol, methanol, ethylene, ethylene oxide, liquefied petroleum gas, non-aromatic hydrocarbons (closed-cup flash point ≤ 60°C), precious metals, water-reducing agents, ethylene glycol, and carbon dioxide (food grade).
