PetroChemical

Description

ZapSibNeftekhim LLC operates Russia's largest integrated petrochemical site in Tobolsk, Tyumen Region, approximately 10 km east of the city—the birthplace of chemist Dmitry Mendeleev. Following a 2020 merger with SIBUR Tobolsk LLC, the company now manages the entire Tobolsk petrochemical cluster, including legacy fractionation and polypropylene assets alongside the world-scale ZapSibNeftekhim complex commissioned in 2019.

The site processes associated petroleum gas and natural gas liquids (NGL) from Western Siberian oil and gas fields, converting low-value feedstocks into high-value polyolefins for domestic consumption and export to Europe and Asia.

The integrated site has a total polymer capacity of approximately 2.5 million tonnes per year: 1.5 million tonnes of polyethylene (HDPE and LLDPE) and 1 million tonnes of polypropylene. At the heart of the complex is a NGL-fed steam cracker producing 1.5 million tpa of ethylene and 525,000 tpa of propylene, which feeds four polyethylene units and multiple polypropylene units.

ZapSibNeftekhim plays a strategic role in Russia's petrochemical self-sufficiency and serves as the anchor of SIBUR's Western Siberian production cluster.
