CNOOC and Shell Petrochemicals Company (CSPC) have licensed Neste’s NEXPAO™ technology for its new 50,000 tonnes/year polyalphaolefin (PAO) plant at Huizhou’s Daya Bay Economic & Technological Development Zone.

The project is integrated into CSPC’s Phase III expansion and targets commercial startup by 2028. NEXPAO brings proven quality and energy efficiency for premium synthetic lubricants, marking its first deployment in China’s booming chemicals market. Construction and auxiliary works are underway, reinforcing CSPC’s position as a specialty chemicals leader in Asia.
