1️⃣ Mura Technology, a specialist in advanced plastic recycling, has announced a 50 ktpa advanced recycling plant on Jurong Island, Singapore, adding to licensed sites with Mitsubishi Chemical Group and LG Chem in addition to Mura’s own UK plant in Wilton, Teesside.

2️⃣ Liquid Sun Ltd on ppPLUS has launched a pilot project in Finland, to produce eSAF using its low temperature electrolysis technology. The project is the first pre-commercial eSAF pilot of its kind and is backed by Finnair and ABB among others and will be fully operational in autumn 2025.

3️⃣ La Française de l'Energie has announced the start of exploratory drilling for natural hydrogen in Lorraine, France, following the discovery of significant hydrogen concentrations in 2023. The new well will be drilled to 4,000 metres and studied over five months.

4️⃣ Poland’s largest refiner ORLEN S.A. announced plans to build the country’s first small modular nuclear power plant in partnership with chemical company Synthos. The planned unit, developed by GE Vernova Hitachi Nuclear Energy technology, will be the first of its kind in Europe.

5️⃣ Brazil’s trade panel has approved temporary antidumping measures on polyethylene resin imports from Canada and the United States. The measures, which will remain in place for up to six months, aim to address concerns over unfair pricing practices.

6️⃣ TotalEnergies, Equinor, and Shell have launched Northern Lights, the world’s first open-access CO₂ transport and storage project. Phase One (1.5 Mtpa) is fully contracted to European customers including Yara International, Ørsted, and Exergi, with the first CO₂ shipment completed.

7️⃣ ABB has signed a supply agreement with U.S. based Citroniq Chemicals for what is set to become the world’s first full commercial scale 100% biogenic polypropylene facility in Nebraska. Scheduled to start operations in 2029, the plant will convert corn-based ethanol into fully certified biogenic polypropylene.

8️⃣ LyondellBasell has approval to build an advanced recycling plant in Wesseling, Germany, featuring the world’s first commercial scale, single train pyrolysis unit (50 ktpa post-consumer waste) using MoReTec technology. Completion is targeted for end-2025.
