Dec 19, 2024 -- Petrobras starts operating SNOX Unit at RNEST (bnamericas)

Petrobras has started operating the Atmospheric Emissions Abatement Unit (SNOX) at the Abreu e Lima Refinery (RNEST), located in the city of Ipojuca in Pernambuco state. The emissions abatement will allow the refinery to increase its current processing by 27,000 barrels per day (bpd), respecting the atmospheric emissions limit set by the local environmental agency, increasing from 88,000 bpd to 115,000 bpd.

Preparations are also underway to begin work on the revamp (expansion) of Train 1, which will provide an increase of 15,000 bpd in capacity, improved flow of light products and greater processing capacity for pre-salt oil. The expectation is to complete the revamp of Train 1 in the first quarter of 2025.
