According to various sources:

  • in 1996 the PP production capacity was 220,000 tpa.
  • in 2002, it was 250,000 tpa.
  • In 2008, 100,000-120,000 tpa of production capacity was added.
  • By 2009, IRPC had 475,000 tpa polypropylene production capacity originally licensed from BASF ( Source).
  • The 2019 and 2021 Investor Update presentations report on production capacity expansion by 160,000 tpa based on Novolen technology, for a total capacity of 635,000 tpa.
  • The 775,000 tpa production capacity reported on the website and in the latest reports includes a 140,000 tpa PP compounding plant licensed by JPP.

As Novolen is the original BASF polypropylene process technology and most recent expansion is also based on Novolen technology, we assume that the various plants are all based on the same process. However, the number of plants and individual reactors are not known.
