8th Feb 2022: The heavy engineering arm of Larsen & Toubro dispatched six of the world's largest coke drums weighing 658 tonne each for a refinery project in Mexico ordered by PTI Infraestructura de Desarrollo, (PTI-ID), a subsidiary of the Mexico's state-owned oil company PEMEX (Petrleos Mexicanos). These coke drums are part of a delayed coking unit in the PEMEX Dos Bocas Refinery Project, which will convert the residue from the combined distillation plant into higher-value products. (Source)
23rd Jul 2024: Petroleos Mexicanos SA de CV (Pemex) (Mexico City) has resumed its startup of the U-30000 delayed coker unit at its Dos Bocas Refinery, also called the Olmeca Refinery. The 105,000-barrel-per-day (BBL/d) unit started operations July 4, but it was halted due to a compressor section failure on July 6. (Source)
