Resonac Corp.

Resonac has been operating the “Kawasaki Plastic Chemical Recycling" (KPR) Plant since 2003. The KPR Plant accepts used plastics collected by municipalities, that is gasified at high temperature for the production of hydrogen and carbon dioxide. The extracted hydrogen is used as feedstock for low-carbon ammonia production, marketed with the ECOANNTM trade name, and the extracted carbon dioxide is used to produce dry ice and gas for carbonated drinks. Resonac is the one and only chemical company that synthesizes ammonia over a long period of time by utilizing low-carbon hydrogen extracted from gas produced through the process of used-plastic chemical recycling.[1]

Resonac plant has a processing capacity of 195 tonnes per day of Hydrogen[2], equivalent to approximately 70,000 tonnes per year[3], corresponding to 359 operating days per year.
