Technology Unit

This electricity is produced by means of Steam Turbines. The Steam needed to drive these turbines is supplied by the Steam Cracker itself, that is under normal circumstances a net exporter of Steam (the internal Steam Production of the Steam Cracker is much higher than the internal Steam consumption). The additional Steam needed to achieve sufficient electricity production is supplied by Steam Boilers. In these Steam Boilers, the surplus Fuel Gas from the Steam Cracker is also used. In order to limit NOx Emissions, the Boiler can be equipped with low NOx Burners.
