Description

Halogenation is a chemical reaction in which one or more fluorine, chlorine, bromine or iodine atom(s) replace hydrogen atom(s) in organic compounds. Examples of halogenation reactions are the chlorination of methane in presence of sunlight or the fluorination of chloroform to form chlorodifluoromethane.
