The 10 million ton oil refining project is advancing rapidly
- Today, Daqing Petrochemical Company's crude oil processing capacity has jumped from 1 million tons to 10 million tons.
- The MTBE, alkylation, and hydrocracking transformation projects were completed and put into production as scheduled in 2018.
- The 2 million tons/year catalytic cracking unit, the 1.2 million tons/year continuous reforming unit, and the supporting storage and transportation projects are all under construction as scheduled. As of May this year, nearly 30,000 tons of MTBE and more than 44,000 tons of alkylated oil have been produced, providing raw material guarantee for Daqing Petrochemical to blend National VI gasoline.
- On September 30 this year, the newly built 1.2 million tons/year continuous reforming project will be delivered.
- In December 1963, the first train of refined oil full of hope and trust drove out of Longfeng Station, and the era of China using "foreign oil" was gone forever. The first unit built at that time was a constant pressure reduction unit with a processing capacity of only 1 million tons/year. After several renovations, the capacity increased from 1 million tons/year to 2.7 million tons/year, and then to 3.5 million tons/year.
- The 600,000 tons/year fluid catalytic cracking unit, which was started and put into production in 1965, was China's first unit designed, constructed and installed independently.
On May 7 in the large ethylene plant production unit No. 1, the No. 9 cracking furnace broke the previous history of 63 consecutive days of online operation and created the longest continuous operation cycle record of 118 days, ranking first among the same type of cracking furnaces in PetroChina.
The ethylene plant has three ethylene production units, with various types of cracking furnaces, many types of cracking raw materials, and large differences in quality. In particular, the first ethylene unit has a complex raw material composition and is difficult to operate. Changes in the composition and feed amount of the materials will increase the tendency of coking in the furnace tubes, which is not conducive to the long-term operation of the cracking furnace. However, it is also the "big brother" and leader of the three ethylene units. It was built more than 30 years ago. The process used by the American S.W. Company at that time is now at a backward level of technology, and the maintenance difficulty is incomparable with similar cracking furnaces that have been put into operation in recent years.

9th Nov 2024In November 2020, Daqing Petrochemical's oil refining structural adjustment and transformation upgrade project was completed and put into operation, including 12 main units such as a 1.2 million tons/year continuous reforming unit, 2 million tons/year catalytic cracking unit, and 29 supporting public works and auxiliary facilities. Currently, Daqing Petrochemical's ethylene unit debottlenecking and downstream supporting projects have been completed, with total ethylene production capacity reaching 1.38 million tons/year. The E3 unit's ethylene energy consumption has dropped below 587.5 kg standard oil/ton, reaching industry energy efficiency benchmark levels. Daqing Petrochemical has strengthened cooperation with research institutes and implemented major CCUS technology projects. The new self-developed anti-coking furnace tube technology has shown good field application results, promoting high-quality enterprise development through technological progress. In catalyst localization research, 4 imported catalysts achieved domestic substitution for the first time. In new materials, Daqing Petrochemical actively implemented new materials acceleration projects to create "product giants." In 2023, they developed 7 new products including lithium battery separator materials and medium-viscosity chlorinated polyethylene Type B, scaled up production of 19 new (high-efficiency) products like 19G and 2820D to 522,000 tons, and produced 40,800 tons of 11 new material products including grades DQDN3711 and UH060P. In the first half of this year, they continued expanding production of new (high-efficiency) chemical products like DQDN3711 and 19G, and successfully developed 4 new products including QL505PR and special functional fibers.
