Zhejiang Petroleum & Chemical Co. Ltd. is also known as Zhejiang Petrochemical Co. Ltd. (ZPC) as both names are used interchangeably. 

ZPC, established on June 18, 2015, is a private enterprise holding and state-owned enterprises participating in mixed ownership enterprises.

The 40 million tons/year refining and chemical integration project is divided into two phases:

1. the first phase processes 20 million tons of crude oil annually, produces 5.2 million tons of aromatics and 1.4 million tons of ethylene annually.
2. the second phase processes 20 million tons of crude oil annually, produces 6.6 million tons of aromatics and 2.8 million tons of ethylene annually.
