Sinopec Hainan Refining and Chemical Co., Ltd. (Hainan Refining and Chemical) is located in the Yangpu Economic Development Zone in the northwest of Hainan Province. It is adjacent to the Beibu Gulf, has a natural deep-water port and a safe harbor, and is located on the main international shipping route of Singapore - Hong Kong - Shanghai - Osaka, with excellent geographical and shipping conditions. Hainan Refining and Chemical also enjoys all the preferential policies of bonded port areas, national development zones and special economic zones. On June 3, 2003, the Sinopec Hainan Refining Project Preparatory Group was established. On April 26, 2004, the Hainan Refining Project was started. On September 28, 2006, the unit was successfully tested with a single batch feed, and the entire process was connected and put into commercial operation.
