Formosa Plastics Corporation is the founding company and cornerstone of Taiwan's Formosa Plastics Group, established in 1954. The company pioneered Taiwan's plastics industry and is now one of the world's largest producers of polyvinyl chloride (PVC) resins and polyolefins.

Business Evolution
1954-1957: Founded with US$798,000 loan from U.S. aid agencies, licensed Japanese PVC technology
1958: Established Nan Ya Plastics as downstream processor consuming over half of FPC's PVC output
1968: Implemented professional management systems and computerization under Group Administration
1981: International expansion began with acquisition of loss-making VCM plant in Baton Rouge, Louisiana, turning it profitable within five years
1992-1998: Participated in developing Taiwan's Sixth Naphtha Cracker Complex at Mailiao, receiving ethylene feedstock from FPCC's crackers
Global Operations
FPC operates manufacturing sites across Taiwan (Mailiao, Linyuan, Renwu), United States (Point Comfort, Baton Rouge, Delaware City), and maintains investments in China, Vietnam, Philippines, and Indonesia through the broader Formosa Plastics Group network.
Subsidiaries include Formosa Plastics Corporation, USA, which produces PVC in the US, as well as basic chemicals. Other members of the Formosa Plastics Group include Formosa Chemicals & Fiber Corp, Formosa Petrochemical, and Nanya Plastics.
