🎱 etasca’s 8 🎱 – Weekly Roundup July 12th, 2025
Weekly Roundup from our partner etasca with insights from ppPLUS
1️⃣ The Energy Institute's Nick Wayth CEng FEI FIMechE and the KPMG team of Simon Virley CB FEI, Wafa Jafri, Christopher Young presented an authoritative review on the status of the energy transition, as part of the 74th edition of the Statistical Review. 2024 saw records broken in energy consumption of all types, and energy consumption per capita is still rising! Energy demand has increased by 2% but emissions by only 1%, showing an increase in electrification. China continues to outpace… adding more solar and wind than the other biggest markets combined. Europe renewables only grew by 7%, considerably slower than other regions. As such, gas continues to plug the hole of the energy transition.
2️⃣ Natural State Renewables is partnering with Axens and thyssenkrupp to produce carbon negative SAF from surplus forest biomass using Axens’ BioTfueL® technology.
