Jul 3, 2025 — ENEOS and Mitsubishi Chemical Complete Construction of Chemical Recycling Facility
ENEOS Corporation and Mitsubishi Chemical Corporation announce that the chemical recycling facility has been completed. This facility employs hydrothermal plastic recycling technology (Hydro-PRT™). The technology has been made available under a license agreement with U.K.-based Mura Technology Ltd. The recycled oil produced with the technology is used as feedstock at both companies’ existing refinery and naphtha cracker and reprocessed into petroleum products and various chemicals and plastics.Aug 17, 2021 — ENEOS & Mitsubishi Chemical to Jointly Implement Plastic-to-Oil Conversion Business
ENEOS Corporation and Mitsubishi Chemical Corporation have decided to launch a joint Plastic-to-Oil Conversion Business at the MCC Ibaraki Plant. The two companies plan to construct a commercial chemical recycling facility at the Plant. The facility will have an annual processing capacity of 20,000 tons, which will be the largest-scale in Japan as commercial basis. The commencement of the operation is planned in FY2023.
