Jul 22, 2005 -- Technip has been awarded an ethylene capacity expansion project by Kazanorgsintez. The project involves the modernization and capacity expansion of three existing ethylene plants at Kazan. The combined capacity of the 3 plants will be increased from 400,000 to 605,000 tpa by debottlenecking, modernization and the installation in one of the plants of a new double-cell ethane cracking SMK furnace. The capacity of the furnace will be 135,000 tons of ethylene per year. 2015 -- Commissioning of a new Technip two-chamber cracking furnace with a capacity of 138 ktpa of ethylene to replace the old and worn-out furnaces at the E-100 facility. (Source)

Oct 19, 2016 -- Technip was awarded by PJSC Kazanorgsintez a contract to provide engineering and procurement of three proprietary SMK™ grassroots furnaces at Kazan, Republic of Tatarstan, Russia. The furnaces will be part of the ethylene plant at the site. This project is another step in Kazanorgsintez’ ongoing cracking furnaces replacement program and confirms the long-standing relationship between the two companies. In 2007 and 2015, Technip supplied SMK™ double-cell cracking furnaces to Kazanorgsintez with successful start-up and operation. (Source)

Aug 24, 2021 — The ethylene complex was upgraded too. The total installed capacity of ethylene units rose from 400 to 640,000 tonnes of ethylene a year. (Source)
